The Grant Making Process
The One Percent Foundation enables Partners to combine their charitable donations and give large grants to Partner-nominated and selected non-profit organizations.
As Partners, we design and implement the grantmaking process. Some Partners participate once every three months by learning about the top organizations and then casting their votes; others take it a step further and get involved in the process of nominating and evaluating potential grantees. Together, we are philanthropists!
We seek a democratic and transparent grantmaking process, so Partners can participate however they choose and have full access to the inner workings of the Foundation.
Partners nominate non-profit organizations that are making our communities better. We admire and value the work of these organizations and aim to implement our philanthropy in a way that shows our respect for them.

Every three months OPF launches a new grantmaking cycle, with a focus on one of five categories: Poverty, International Aid, Education, Health, and the Environment.
